Bundi was the capital of the Bundi princely state. The town contains one of the most intact and least-altered medieval Rajput townscapes in India — the fort, the palace, the stepwells, the cenotaphs, and the old city lanes have seen relatively little modern intrusion compared to larger Rajasthan cities.
